In 1995, Sidney had one of the finest baseball teams in the school's history, narrowly missing out on a state championship. The boys faced tough competition against Valley Stream but ultimately fell short. Special thanks go to the seniors for their leadership and determination throughout the season. Their success was rooted in teamwork, a commitment to improving their skills, and fostering cohesion among teammates. The friendly competition for each position contributed to the team's overall strength.

The team achieved a remarkable 19-6 record, highlighted by significant victories, including a win against BGA that secured both the Sus League Championship and the Section IV title. Although they faced a disappointing loss in the state championship game, the players exhibited great class and determination.

Coach Hager expressed gratitude to all the players and coaches who had contributed over the past thirteen years. This dedication underscored the hard work that led to the team's success. Over several decades, he became an extraordinary coach, guiding the 1995 baseball team to a historic achievement as the first and only team to reach the New York State finals. He devoted countless hours to coaching multiple sports, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of Sidney's athletes.
